Creativity through Play

The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.

Carl Jung

For any creative person, the fear of being unable to create can loom within self-doubt.

We can study and research to get new ideas but the best form of creativity I believe comes through play.

Like a child, playing and exploring things around you with no particular intention or purpose can start something new and exciting and open up a new world.  Even better if you have got someone to play with, doing the most inane and ridiculous activities can lead to writing or anything else you had not thought of.

So the next time you get stuck creatively – go play.
